Joe Staley was a player for the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL. He had the position of offensive tackle and was one of the best in the league.

He entered the league in 2007 after being picked by the team for the twenty-eight slot. Since then, he did not play for another team and stuck with the 49ers throughout his thirteen-year career.

Because of his greatness shown on the gridiron, Staley was named one of the NFL 2010s All-Decade team. He was also a three-time second-team All-Pro for three consecutive years in 2011, 2012, and 2013.

So, in order to combat this, Joe started out with a plan to effectively lose weight after retirement. He said in an interview that he did this to have more energy to spend with his kids and family.

Since he needed to stay heavy when he was still a pro, Joe ate a lot of calories in a day. Because of the nature of his work, this was deemed necessary and okay for the athlete.

But when Staley retired, he needed to tone down on the calories to avoid getting even heavier. Instead, the former pro footballer opted to eat healthier options to help tone down his body mass.

The former pro athlete said he needed to follow a very strict regimen to stay fit. He said that cardio and cross fit helped him greatly during his workouts.

It is also evident that he continues training his body. It seems like he still got some left in the tank and could still play football because of his build.
