Cornelius Crane “Chevy” Chase is an American comedian, actor, and writer. Chase was born on October 8, 1953, from an extensive family tree of New Yorkers; he is a 14th-generation New Yorker registered on the Social Register of the United States of America even from a young age.

As a child, he was often described as a practical joker with a mean streak; trouble seemed always to follow him, and the humorous tales told about him amused most people. One example was when he guest starred on the Today show in 2009.

Chase revved up one of the urban legends concerning him back in College, where he had a pet cow in his fourth-floor dorm room. Still, his fellow guest star and former roommate David Felson said that Chase dropped out of Haverford College for academic reasons and not because he harbored a cow in their dorm.

Regarding the films he starred in, Chase is most recognized as a key cast member in the first season of Saturday Night Live, where he hosted the satirical sketch segment of the show, Weekend Update, and Chase won three Primetime Emmy Awards out of his five nominations for his participation in the evening show. In terms of his big-screen projects, he won two Golden Globe Award nominations for his first ever lead role in the neo-noir comedy film Foul Play in 1978.

In his 2007 biography, Chase revealed that his childhood had not been easy. He revealed that his mother and stepfather used to physically and psychologically abuse him at a younger age.

As a famous Hollywood personality, his personal life has been documented for years, and it is safe to say that he has not led the healthiest life out there. In 1986, he was admitted to the hospital for abusing his prescribed painkillers, but Chase denied this and stated that he’s fairly “low level-ed” in his drug abuse.

He is also a well-known alcoholic and received medical intervention for his alcohol abuse in September 2016. According to reports, he used to weigh over 300 pounds before his massive weight loss, but it was not born from positive motives because his health began to deteriorate for his alcoholism around the year 2018.

Chevy Chase’s Weight Loss Surgery

In accordance with his deteriorating health, he was admitted to the hospital and twice in rehab for his alcohol abuse around 2016. Later, he underwent gastric bypass surgery — a weight-loss surgery involving generating a tiny pouch from the stomach and attaching the newly produced pouch directly to the small intestine — back in 2018.

Effectively, this had helped him lose 110 pounds and maintain his achieved weight.

Chevy Chase’s Weight Loss Diet Plan

Having undergone gastric bypass surgery, Chase must follow a diet low in calories, fats, and sweets. Excessive intake of any of these foods can cause complications in his digestive system.

Aside from this, physicians recommend portion control for patients who have undergone weight loss surgery.

Despite his publicized weight loss surgery and assumed dietary habits, information about Chevy Chase’s workout regimen are not available online, nor has the actor personally revealed details about his exercise routine.
